PROJECT DESCRIPTION

TL;DR:
Roll My Retirement shows how I approach zero-to-one product work: identify a real market gap, design for two distinct audiences simultaneously, build a brand that earns trust in a skeptical industry, and use AI agents to ship fast without sacrificing craft.

The Opportunity:
Most people have no idea they're leaving money behind. Old 401(k)s from jobs they left years ago sit untouched — not growing, not working, just forgotten. The services that exist to help? They charge users for it. Roll My Retirement was built to fix both problems: educate people about their idle retirement accounts and connect them with a vetted local financial advisor, completely free to the user. We're paid by the advisors, not the people we help. I co-founded RMR as Founding Product Designer, owning the full creative and product vision from day one — brand identity, visual language, site architecture, and every pixel of the consumer and advisor-facing experience.

The Design Challenge:
Free doesn't automatically feel trustworthy, especially in financial services. The design had to do heavy lifting: earn trust from people who are rightfully skeptical of "free" offers, communicate an education-first mission, and simultaneously convince established advisors that joining an unproven network was worth their reputation. That meant building two distinct audience experiences on the same brand system — a consumer homepage built around warmth and clarity ("we're on your side"), and an advisor recruitment page built around exclusivity and professional credibility. The design system — warm neutrals, Instrument Serif, fluid spacing tokens, and a shared component library — had to make both audiences feel like the product was made specifically for them.

How I Built It:
I vibe-coded the entire site using Claude Code inside Google Antigravity, moving from brand decisions to shipped production pages without a traditional development handoff. The build included an interactive particle network with custom physics (cursor attraction, click-scatter), GSAP scroll animations, Lenis smooth scroll, a shared footer component, and a living design system styleguide. My business co-founder handled the advisor network and go-to-market side; I owned design, product thinking, and the full build.
